Emotions: 600-word story
"Please man, you've gotta hook me up," the thin woman said desperately. "I said I can pay you next Friday!"
Wearily, I rubbed my temples. "Yeah, you said that, but see, you already owe me money. I don't think you understand I'm not a drug dealer! I'm a legitimate businessman. I'm a health care professional! I gave you some Contentment because you needed it to recover. I didn't give you enough to form this kind of habit! Lady, you need help. I know a great rehab center, they focus on natural "
"No! No, no, no! Why should I kick it? It's easy, it's not bad for me! It makes me feel good! It's, like, bottled sex! Why won't you give

600-word writing exercise
She closed the book, placed it on the table, and finally, decided to walk through the door.
The room behind her was a room for waiting. She hesitated to call it a waiting room; that term implied an impatience, an unwillingness, a sense of somewhere else to be. This room had been a place of safe harbor, but also of well, nothing at all, really. A place for recovery, for readying. The door, an avatar of change and permanence that takes one out of the phase of hardship that one has been living and into the greatest of all unknown.
She had not thought that death would be like this. Waiting for it had been bad enough; months if not years o
In response to RomanJones's journal/comic that tears TBBT down, I must express my thoughts on the subject.
RomanJones, I hear you, and I can completely understand where you're coming from. I am not at all here to point fingers and scream "you're wrong!" because I am still not really sure that I'm right. But this is my gut reaction to TBBT.
But first, a little bit of background: A few years ago, the company my husband works for was commissioned to make a game for TBBT on Facebook. His assignment before development began was to watch the show and become familiar with it. Now, I think my hubby has a little bit of OCD, because he took that to m
Well, I did my level best to complete this week's comic in... well, a week, but was unable for one reason and another. I have decided that in order to focus on the quality of the comic and to take care of some real-life business and health issues, I am going to go on indefinite hiatus. I am going to be working relentlessly, though, and when I have sufficient backlog I will be back. And I will miss you all while I am gone... though I'll still be lurking. =) I hope everyone remembers Nex's by the time I get back! I look forward to my triumphant return. Ciao!
RULES:
1. For each of the 20 first people answering this journal, I will put their avatar and the three deviations I like most from their gallery on the list!
2. If you answer, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger on the first place. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!

I doubt I'll get 20 participants but I'll be happy to feature each and every one I do get!
WHY THANK YOU! Funny note: my friend, to whom I showed "bad art," now, while he's drawing, gets into mental arguments with "you" for "deconstructing his work." (I interpret this as him recognizing his atrocious [lazy] anatomy mistakes while still in process. )
